Vintage Set of 4 Ovington's Fifth Avenue American Limoges "American Beauty Roses" 10" Dinner Plates in U.S. Forest Green T-S 530 Warranted 22Kt Gold Filigree Banding. The gold edge pattern is highly reflective with different angles of light hitting the banding. These plates are stunning to look at and will grab a lot of attention. The American Beauty Rose is a deep pink rose cultivar bred by Henri Ledechaux in France in 1875. It was introduced as a new rose cultivar named 'American Beauty' by Bancroft and Field Bros in 1886, but quite soon identified as 'Madame Ferdinand Jamin'. China and Glass founded by Theodore and Edward
Ovington
in 1843 on Fulton Street near the ferry. They moved to Fulton at Clark Street in 1879, but this building burned down in 1884. The Ovington's Brothers Building at Southest corner of 5th Avenue and 32nd Street in New York, NY is shown between 1900-1929, in last photo. A little history for any plate buffs! Thanks for looking.
