    Description

This is an original genuine antique Sawankhalok Celadon Bowl from Thailand. It is dated around 15-16th C. The bowl is heavily potted with carved ribbing on the exterior of the bowl and incised undulating line decoration around the rim and incised circle decoration on the well of the bowl. The Glaze is crackled with beautiful pale green tone. The body of the clay is imbedded with dark particles characteristics of genuine Thai Sawankhalok pottery from 14-16th C. There is a dark ring on the bottom of the bowl from the trivet during firing. The unglazed clay around the foot rim has a pale pinkish color. Those physical characteristics are the signs of genuine Thai Sawankhalok piece.  It is a wonderful example of a robust character of Thai Sawankahlok piece. The bowl is in good condition. There is no crack or chip. On the well of the bowl and near the rim, there some glaze abrasions consistent with age.
