Antique 19thc. DHA Southeast Asian Sword Dagger Silver Filigree Sheath Marked #2For your consideration is a beautiful antique Southeast Asian weapon called DHA
A Burmese word, dha (dah) refers to a wide variety of knives and swords, used by many people across Southeast Asia, especially present-day Myanmar ( Burma), Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam
It is a long dagger, characterized by the slightly curved single edge blade, round cross-section grip and no guard.
Hand elaborated silver scabbard with filigree-like pattern bands for decoration
Similar silver decoration at the handle as well
The inner part of the the sheath is wooden
Hand hammered iron blade
Camel bone handle
Three stamped marks at the scabbard's tip: two stars and some character
Circa late 1800's
All original
Measurements:
Approx. 16.25" long x 1.75" x 1.5" . The blade is 9.75".
Weighs about 9 oz.
Condition:
